XLR8 The Passionate Leader: (G + L + F = JOY!!!)

Weekly Inspiration: You Can Do It! (click) Affirmation by Louise Hay from her 2010 calendar:

  • “I release criticism of myself and others.” I just returned from the second symposium of The Soul Purpose Institute presented by Steve D’Annunzio. It was such a pleasure being in the presence of someone living his passion and totally in his “flow”. His acronym for this is Fully Letting Omnipotence Work. By definition you cannot be in flow if you are ruled by your inner critic. This inner critic takes energy away from you - literally making you weak.
  • I was attracted to the concept of flow since I have just added this statement to my Happiness List as a result of the Halifax Psych-K advanced training: “I welcome changes in my life. My life is a perfect example of synchronicity and flow.” (Far out, man!)

I am a Spiritual Leader Development Coach

One of my biggest take aways from the symposium is a reality statement that I will read three times a day as part of my spiritual practices. I received one at the first symposium last fall, but this one has more impact because I had to fill in the six “blanks” with words that resonate with me. I’d like to expand on the first blank.

In the first “blank” I had to put down my “soul purpose title.” This wasn’t that easy for me, so I went to my personal mission statement for direction. When was the last time you looked at or revised yours?

Liberating inspiration by enthusiastically coaching people around the world to discover the simple truths that loving ourselves and leading from love will manifest our passions, fulfill our purpose and change the world.

So I chose “Spiritual Leadership Development Coach”. While I talk about and emphasize love in my work, after listening to Steve, I don’t say it LOUD ENOUGH in large part because I haven’t been able to articulate it as well as I’d like. Steve is a master at it, so let me share a little of his insight.

Everything in our universe is energy in a constant state of vibration. All matter is solidified energy as Einstein proved in his now famous E = MC2. Thought waves are also pure energy that “vibrate” – as thoughts, choices, words, and actions – that automatically “attracts” people and events to us that match whatever energy we originally sent.

Positive thought waves create a strong, love energy. Negative thought waves create a weak, fear energy. I can prove this to you by using a simple muscle test. Please ask me to demonstrate this the next time we meet. It will only take a minute.

Science tells us that the average human being thinks 50,000 thoughts a day. In most people, 50% of their thoughts are negative, fear-based thinking, especially the inner-critic mentioned above. Without realizing it we are short-circuiting our own happiness and ultimately our life success.

As Steve defines it, spirituality is the science of love energy. Being spiritual means choosing love over fear, which is counterintuitive to our evolutionary programming which is to choose fear first. This condition is changeable, thus my new title of Spiritual Leadership Development Coach. Which side of the equation would you like to live on - love or fear? Which side do you currently live on? Does this make sense?

  1. Nicely done Tom. This week's inspiration offers a welcome alternative to the standard, "Here's what you need to do." or "Top 10 Things to Remember About Being Happy." I like the questions you end with here much better than the answers that are usually provided.
