Week 25 - XLR8 The Passionate Leader

THANKS to everyone who purchased Wake Up …Live the Life You Love: Empowered at Barnes & Noble. We made it as high as #4 overall as well as #1 in the self-help category. If you haven’t already, please make sure you tell me you bought a book so I can send you your free copy.

  • Zig Ziglar’s Inspiration: 365 Days A Year
    • My favorite quote for the week of June 22nd – 28th: “Regardless of your lot in life, you can build something beautiful on it.” – Zig Ziglar
      • Lesson #7 from Napoleon Hill’s Golden Rules – The Lost Writings (If you would like the Audio-tech summary PDF file – e-mail me). The Golden Rule IS the key to all achievement. This was never more evident for me until I went out on my own as a coach/consultant. Looking back on it, the Golden Rule has been fundamental to not only in making that transition but our continuing success.

    • Week Twenty Five Assignment – Lavish Love
      • Given that Father’s Day is tomorrow (I’m writing this on Saturday since I will be busy lavishing and soaking in the love we share as a family), don’t miss the opportunity to let people know how you feel about them. Remember, we always do our best as a parent even though it may be far from perfect.

o I had the opportunity to visit with some folks who have taken on a new leadership assignment. They all were very respectful of what the previous leader accomplished and they were energized by what they discovered were their opportunities to improve the results. What struck me was how easy it is to get into a routine and not be open to so many ideas that are obvious to someone who replaces us. We should all have the courage to go back and see what “low hanging fruit” was right under our noses that someone else acted upon.

        1. Lesson #5 from Napoleon Hill’s Golden Rules – The Lost Writings (If you would like the Audio-tech summary PDF file – e-mail me). People who cheat to get ahead will eventually lose, and those who follow their principles will eventually succeed. This follows the law of compensation which states that what is taken away is replaced by something else. My fellow co-authors illustrate that in their stories.

Week 23 - XLR8 The Passionate Leader

“This is truly a significant life marker” ~ A world-class organization with a world-class culture sent their high potential leaders and they gave each other a world-class experience! Twelve individuals clarified and focused their pathway to JOY (G + L + F). Elaine and I are proud to be a part of witnessing these role models and leaders of the future. They are not afraid to say – “What’s the coach’s job … to love us; what’s our job … to love each other.” To understand what we mean, click on this ESPN Real Sports segment Joe Ehrmann's Real Sports Segment

  • Zig Ziglar’s Inspiration: 365 Days A Year
    • My favorite quote for the week of June 8th – 14th: “Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together.” – Woodrow Wilson
        1. Lesson #5 from Napoleon Hill’s Golden Rules – The Lost Writings (If you would like the Audio-tech summary PDF file – e-mail me). Your personality is shaped by environment and habit. The people with whom you associate every day constitute the most important and most influential part of your environment. You should select friends who are aligned with your passions and whose mental attitude inspires you to determination, enthusiasm and ambition.

  • The Best Year of Your Life: Get Debbie Ford's Kit
    • Week Twenty-Two Assignment – Make Powerful Requests
      • During Leadership Week, participants clarified what they Really, Really, Really, Really … Want!!!
    • Week Twenty-Three Assignment - Worthiness
      • Our feelings of worthiness dictate how much love, success, abundance, fun and pleasure we’ll allow ourselves to achieve. It doesn’t come solely from what we do but from who we are. We reinforce our worthiness when we ask people to provide “Unique Ability” data ~ part of our inner guidance system articulated at Leadership Week.

  • Creating a Culture of Leadership Development – A Drop for Your Bucket!!! Send an electronic drop or comment by going to the blog (click on this blog’s heading – Wake Up the Passionate Leader above) and click on the “comment” icon at the end of this week’s posting.

o Great new Ken Blanchard Book – Helping People Win at Work – “Don’t Mark My Paper, Help Me Get an A”. I’ll let the 12 participants tell you if we got an “A” last week based on these intentions:

1. To create a learning community

2. To create a team

3. To improve your coaching and leadership abilities

4. To unleash dormant forces

Week 22 - XLR8 The Passionate Leader

We will be at Leadership Week this week, where Elaine and I will be living in Joy (G + L + F). It is truly what we are meant to do right now ~ we love doing it and it is great fun! It will be especially joyful since our son Andrew will be a participant. For those of you who have attended Leadership Week, you undoubtedly remember starting right out with the lifeline exercise. Enjoy the Simple Truths DVD The Race - Life Greatest Lesson, which we now use as the introduction to the exercise.

  • Zig Ziglar’s Inspiration: 365 Days A Year
    • My favorite quote for the week of June 1st – 7th: “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.” – Joe Sabah
      • Lesson #4 from Napoleon Hill’s Golden Rules – The Lost Writings (If you would like the Audio-tech summary PDF file – e-mail me). You can follow a simple process to build self-confidence. There are seven statements you need to memorize, write out and repeat to yourself twice a day. Since we all could use a self-confidence booster from time to time, I will feature one a week for the next seven weeks.
        1. “I know I have the ability to accomplish all that I attempt. I know that to succeed, I have only to establish this belief in myself and follow it with vigorous, aggressive action. I will establish this belief.”

  • The Best Year of Your Life: Get Debbie Ford's Kit
    • Week Twenty-One Assignment – Be Generous
      • Did you appreciate your own generosity?
    • Week Twenty-Two Assignment – Make Powerful Requests
      • Our ability to manifest the things we desire is in direct proportion to how powerfully and clearly we can state our requests. In keeping with Napoleon Hill’s wisdom above – what would you have to attempt to bring you more self-confidence? If you don’t ask, you don’t get!

  • Creating a Culture of Leadership Development – A Drop for Your Bucket!!! Send an electronic drop or comment by going to the blog (click on this blog’s heading – Wake Up the Passionate Leader above), then click on the “comment” icon at the end of this week’s posting.
    • I received an e-mail from one of the people I have had the privilege to work with for 6 – 7 years. I am so proud of how he has evolved as a leader. The best part is that he is sending me the stuff I love to get, and I want to pass it along to you. Dali Lama 2009 Mantra As he said to me – find a quiet spot and enjoy.
